St. John the Evangelist Parish
Bold Campaign

The parish of St. John the Evangelist celebrates 120 years of faith.  As a family we make our jouney of faith together, ever grateful to those who preceded us and mindful of our responsibility to those that follow us.  This is the legacy we are building which we hope to pass on to the next generation.

Although it is almost impossible to believe our "new" church building is now approaching 20 years of age.  As typical of our homes, it is in need of some updating.  A Facilities Committee (a sub-committee of the Administration Commission) began meeting early in 2000 to evaluate the existing buildings and to make recommendations for the future.

PHASE ONE

  • Purchase of pastor's residence (August, 2006)
  • Renovate the rectory to create offices, Good Shepherd classrooms, and adult meeting space
  • Electrical rewiring including technology
  • New heating/air conditioning system
  • Replace windows
  • Make the building handicap accessible including an elevator
  • Add emergency exit stairwell at the front of the building
  • Retile the foundation
  • Create a main entrance and reception area at the rear of the building
  • Interior painting and furnishings as needed

PHASE TWO

  • Expansion of the church gathering room
  • Add carport for drop off and pick up
  • Additional restrooms
  • Upgrade heating/air conditioning system
  • Move baptismal font forward
  • New flooring
  • Resurface and expand parking lot
  • Improve parking lot lighting
  • Energy improvements to the school
  • Raze old parish center
